Dave Mussey is a skilled builder of
traditional wood/canvas canoes, and Fran Doonan is a skilled builder of traditional
pounded ash baskets. Together they offer the following products and services:
- Wood/Canvas canoes for sale, including the solo "Water Slipper"
(12', 37 lb), the "Wardens' Worry" (14', 55 lb), and the "River Mink" (16', 68 lb).
- A variety of over 60 brown ash baskets for sale,
specializing in the designs of Maliseet Indian basketmaker Louis Paul. Models
include pack baskets, creels, market and harvest baskets, pie and bread baskets,
and many others.
- Winter camping equipment for sale, including handmade ash toboggans and mukluks
(winter moccasins) of leather and canvas.
- Workshops for those wishing to make their own
baskets, canoes, mukluks, toboggans, and crooked knives. These courses are offered
at the Maine Journeys workshop in Glenburn, Maine.
